White-tailed Kite in CT!

I have to laugh a little bit at this. This great bird showed up the day after I left for a week's birding in AZ (which is off to a great start BTW). This is at least the fifth time a state first has shown up in CT when I've been away, off the top of my head! I can think of: Red-necked Stint, Black-tailed Godwit, Little Stint, Snowy Plover, and now WT Kite. I think CT birders would be smart to pay for me to take a vacation every now and then!

  4. Thanks Dawn, I'll check my schedule. August really snuck up on me.

Thanks Mark. Glad it stuck around for us to see.

Anonymous...do you have any photos or description of the plovers? Snowy Plover is INCREDIBLY rare in the northeast and would be expected to turn up along the coast.
