CAS trip to Hawk Mountain, PA (Oct 2013)

Over the next year I'll be leading or co-leading a few overnight tours for Connecticut Audubon Society. I will keep links to these trips in the sidebar to the right. Join us for high quality birding, culture, and great fun! Nonmembers from anywhere in the world are welcome of course!

Hawk Mountain, PA
October 18-20, 2013
This van trip from Connecticut features a long weekend at one of the premier inland hawkwatching sites in the eastern US. This 2,000+ acre sanctuary in the Kittatinny Ridge of eastern PA is famous for its average of 24,000 migrant birds of prey each autumn. If the winds are from the northwest, this spot can give you an experience to remember with hundreds of birds right at eye level. En route, travelers stop at birding hotspots in search of shorebirds, waterfowl, and other birds of interest.

American Kestrel

Golden Eagle

Peregrine Falcon

[Update 8/27/13 - This trip is a GO, but space is still available. Join us!]
