Cockenoe Island

Cockenoe Island, off Westport, CT, annually holds a flock of staging Common Terns at this time of year. I've been out there several times over the past couple weeks, and the flock has held pretty steady at 2-300 birds. A couple of ROSEATE and FORSTER'S TERNS have been among the Commons, along with the occasional LEAST. Today a pretty fresh juvenile BONAPARTE'S GULL was the highlight.
