Sandhill Crane, Durham CT

Just back from a quick run to nearby Durham to see the Sandhill Crane found yesterday by Joanne Luppi. Too close to home to pass up!

  1. We tried to find this crane today, January 23,about 12:00, off Johnson Road and then onto Maiden Road, but didn't see it. Have you seen it again recently?

  4. I have what I believe to be a Sandhill crane in my backyard this morning in Cheshire. Wasn't sure what it was, went researching and here I am. I have a small pond and that might be what drew it here. Hope it stays a while. Amazing!

  5. Anonymous...that could very well be! Also take care to eliminate the common Great Blue Heron, which are especially attracted to inland ponds. Let us know what you find, and if you have any photos, feel free to email them to me at nbonomo@gmail.com
