Another winter of wayward Ivory Gulls?

The first lower 48 Ivory Gull of the season has appeared. This one, an adult along coastal California, is another sign that things are not going well for this species up north.

If this species does make another push into New England this winter, I do hope that CT is lucky enough to host one. There are currently no accepted records of this species for the state, but a very old report of a first-winter bird may be revisited by the ARCC in the near future.
