Gulling at the landfill

[UPDATE 11/27/13: Sadly, it appears that Xtranormal has shut down their website. Gone with it is this video, with no trace to be found, much like the girlfriend on which the movie was based!! That's a bummer...I wish they had emailed me beforehand so I could have tried to reproduce it in some form.]

Inspired by a few recent Xtranormal videos sent to me, I've re-created a conversation I seem to have every year around this time...

  5. Funniest thing I've seen in a while...or I guess it would be funny if it wasn't so scary true!

  6. This gets funnier every time that I watch it. The whole family is into it.

  7. Utterly awesome. And my first reaction is to wish there were better sites close to home, not sure what that says about me.

  8. "are you seriously choosing seagulls over me!?" haha this is great, Nick!

  9. Nick, you had my husband, son, and I laughing at this one. Glad you pointed it out!

  10. So funny! The gap between me and my non-birding husband is not quite as wide.

  11. Soooo for the record, Ben's pick up line that worked on me was "I could show you some gulls sometime"... I agreed and after our first "gulling" experience I had a plethora of new life birds including Ivory Gull and Thayer's Gull.... :-) so for SOME people this might actually work!!!

  12. Great story Lauren. So there is hope for guys like me...
I think I actually first met you on that gull session you referred to - pretty sure it was at the Gloucester Ivory Gull.

  13. Yep! That indeed was the first time we met - I remember because you were one of the few people Ben introduced me too! I thought he was ashamed of me but turns out he couldn't remember a bunch of the other people's names!

And you're better off finding someone to share your hobby with in my opinion! I mean if Ben and I weren't both birders... we would never see each other!
